In this paper it is studied the link between productivity and international position occupied by the Spanish and Portuguese companies in the chemical sector in 2011. The aim is contribute to the economic literature determining if the Arms that internationalize, either by exports or investment, are more productive than those not sell in the world market. First, it is produced a cross-sectional sample with the goal of make the estimation of the production function. Finally, it is concluded that in the sample used, the export activity is the one that has a higher weight in the growth of productivity.
