Resumen

VILLAMEDIANA, Jenely; DONADO, Antonio  y  ZERPA, Carlos Enrique. Conflict management styles, emotional intelligence and moral development. Dimens.empres. [online]. 2015, vol.13, n.1, pp.73-94. ISSN 1692-8563.  https://doi.org/10.15665/rde.v13i1.339.

This research contrasted the relationships between conflict management styles, emotional intelligence and moral development of Venezuelan students through a path analysis. The Styles of Conflict Management questionnaire (ROCI-II), the Emotional Intelligence Inventory (IIESS-R) and the Defining Issues Test (DIT) was used. The path analysis was partially valid since the inclusive management style conflict is predicted only by the management of emotions; this also predicts complacent management styles and conflict committed; the perception of other people's emotions predicts the morality of principles and the perception of the emotions inclusive management style conflict. There is evidence that women know best their own emotions but have less control over them than for men. Additional research is needed to clarify the moderating effect of other variables on the proposed relationships.

Palabras clave : Conflict management; emotional intelligence; moral development; path analysis.
