This article is part of the institutional research project called Historiography of Entrepreneurship of Cundinamarca 1900-2010; Chapter: Province of Alto Magdalena. This study intends to give a well-deserved recognition to the entrepreneurs of the province who, with their effort and tenacity managed to make of the Alto Magdalena aprosperous region, focus of national and foreign investment. Likewise, it is in the interest of academia to analyze the models and administrative techniques employed by local entrepreneurs in their efforts to carry out their projects. This study carries out a documentary sequence of historical character that allows to know the administrative model implemented in the Lazareto de Agua de Dios and its particular economic system, giving an example of functionality with respect for human dignity. It was in this way that society solved "theproblem".
