Abstract

CASTIBLANCO-MORENO, Suelen Emilia; CASTRO-CASTELL, Ofelia Patricia  and  GOMEZ-RAMIREZ, Adriana Patricia. SERVICES SECTOR IN COLOMBIA: RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN INNOVATION AND INTERNATIONALIZATION. Dimens.empres. [online]. 2017, vol.15, n.2, pp.117-139. ISSN 1692-8563.  https://doi.org/10.15665/rde.v15i2.927.

The services sector has been constituted as the most important of the national economy with a 51.1% of GDP share in 2014, however, in that same year, represented less than 0.2% in the country's exports. In this sense, the objective of this article is to identify the relationship between innovation and internationalization in the services sector in Colombia in order to understand their low participation in exports. Thus, a reference framework on the services sector is presented and a quantitative descriptive analysis of the EDITS information is carried out. From this analysis, it is concluded that the number of companies with innovation activities has decreased, that the few results of these activities are not oriented to the international markets and that they are financed almost entirely by the companies in the face of the low level of public support.

Keywords : Innovation; Services sector; internationalization.
