Economic globalization is a phenomenon that has been characterized by the potentiation of elements such as trade liberalization, the development of technological innovations and the deregulation of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI). The objective of this reflection is to identify the factors and advantages that the state of Veracruz must attract FDI, and to know its evolution during the 2009-2014 period. To this end, an analysis was made of the socioeconomic situation of Veracruz, where the advantages and weaknesses it has in relation to the other States of the Republic to attract FDI are identified. Finally, it concludes with a series of institutional recommendations.
