This descriptive study aims to point out what gay community thinks and how they live their masculinity in the Atlantic Department of Colombia. It comes from the research done by the same author titled: "Daily life of sexual diversity in the Atlantic department". To conduct this research surveys, interviews and life stories were used. The research results indicate that the gay community in Atlantic department seeks to fully interact in a democratic, pluralistic, inclusive society without exclusion and without stigma; they build new masculinity styles, more open, flexible, and away from the schema ofpatriarchal culture and the traditional female model. That is, they do not want to be treated or compared to women, because they are not interested in assuming a sex that does not belong to them biologically. Two masculinity trends are identified: those who consider traditional masculinity without being interested in hegemonic masculinity and those who have some type of terrorization, but do not want to look like women. Both trends seek new styles that take they away from the stigma created by the patriarchal and Judeo-Christian culture. They want to be themselves without prejudice and exercise their citizenship as subjects of rights.
