Abstract

HERNANDEZ, Rubén Darío  and  OSPINA, Lucía Victoria. CURRÍCULOS ESTRUCTURADOS EN LA LÓGICA Y EL MÉTODO DE LA INGENIERÍA. Rev.EIA.Esc.Ing.Antioq [online]. 2005, n.4, pp.55-65. ISSN 1794-1237.

In a society subjected to the uncertainty and the dynamics of permanent change, it is necessary to have an integral educational process for the students: both as professionals and human beings. This will allow students to solve with independency and creativity the most general and frequent problems of their profession, as well as to participate actively in the economical and social development of their country. To achieve this, the Antioquia School of Engineering (Escuela de Ingeniería de Antioquia) has assumed the challenge of enhancing their academic programs curricula with criteria such as pertinence, academic quality, and rationality. Those criteria take into account national and international tendencies for pedagogical activities, duration, and special emphasis in self-learning. This article shows the proposed curriculum for the Civil Engineering program, its minimal and essential disciplinary structure, as its logical articulation, guided by objectives and designed in correspondence with the application of the Engineering method.

Keywords : Integral education; curriculum network; model of professional; curricular disciplines; education in Civil Engineering.
