Abstract

RUGE CARDENAS, Juan Carlos; PINTO DA CUNHA, Renato  and  RONDON QUINTANA, Hugo Alexánder. SIMULATION OF LOAD TESTS IN PILES USING A HYPOPLASTIC CONSTITUTIVE MODEL. Rev.EIA.Esc.Ing.Antioq [online]. 2014, n.21, pp.171-183. ISSN 1794-1237.

This paper presents a numerical simulation based in a FEM program related with the results of a pile load test conducted on porous clay from Brasilia DF (Brazil), which has metastable characteristics. The numerical modeling used as reference model a hypoplastic constitutive model. The analysis of the results of laboratory tests, allowed estimating soil geotechnical properties and parameters of strength, deformability and stratigraphic identification. As a general conclusion it's important to highlight that the hypoplastic prediction in the linear range, reproduce of an adequate way the tendency in the load-settlement curve, however due to the loss of adhesion in the soil-pile interfase, at the time of the test, it shows the incapability of the model to simulate this effect appropriately, since in the geotechnical problem exist unsaturated and metastability conditions.
