Abstract

LOPEZ-VARGAS, Juan Camilo  and  CARDENAS-AGUIRRE, Diana María. Influencing factors in logistic coordination for disaster preparedness and response - A literature review. Rev.EIA.Esc.Ing.Antioq [online]. 2018, vol.15, n.30, pp.41-56. ISSN 1794-1237.  https://doi.org/10.24050/reia.v15i30.1146.

The objective of this paper is to present the factors that influence the coordination of the actors involved in disaster preparedness and response operations. For this aim, a literature review has been carried out in order to identify the factors that facilitate and hinder coordination within the framework of humanitarian logistics. Coordination in humantarian supply chains is complex despite the fact that it is addressed towards the fundamental objectives of reducing the deaths and suffering of the victims of a disaster. Based on the literature review, it can be established that coordination is conditioned by the complex environment inherent to disasters, by organizational capabilities, as well as the trust and transparency that exist among them. These findings are intended to foster interest in inter-organizational coordination and improvement of disaster preparedness and response processes.
