BERNAL LOPEZ, Luz Adriana  e  AMAYA CASTANO, Gloria Clemencia. Autonomy, Sovereignty, and Food Security of the People: The Custody of Seeds of the Community Houses of the Network of Agroecological Farmers’ Markets of Valle del Cauca. Rev. Guillermo Ockham [online]. 2023, vol.21, n.2, pp.427-445.  Epub 26-Jul-2023. ISSN 1794-192X.  https://doi.org/10.21500/22563202.6067.

From the narrative biographical approach, this article aims to account for the importance of seed custody, based on the study of eleven community houses belonging to the Network of Peasant Agroecological Markets of Valle del Cauca, in relation to autonomy, sovereignty, and food security and some socio-environmental problems, such as the entry of transgenics and certain regulatory provisions that have affected and still affect some of their practices. Considering the above, this study, in 2021, conducted a series of semi-structured interviews with peasants and small producers, to learn about life experiences in correspondence with the theme of this work. This information was systematized and analyzed by means of matrices, with which a triangulation of the data obtained was made, in context with the theoretical postulates. Among the main findings, it was found that for seed custodians it is essential to manage seeds in an autonomous manner, both for their natural products and in their traditional and ancestral way of sowing and marketing their crops.
