Abstract

The golden scalpel. A reflection about biopedagogy and anthropology of medicine, health and shamanism. Tabula Rasa [online]. 2012, n.16, pp.283-293. ISSN 1794-2489.

We are facing modern illnesses requiring modern treatments and medicines. Our national healthcare system is inoperative and traditional medicines fight not to disappear. In the academic context, a «dialogue of learnings» is encouraged, but there is no understanding about the principle of complementarity. Then, how to build a world with Others if we are failing to start a genuine dialogue with them? The author ponders upon these issues in the contexto of bio-pedagogy and anthropology, and introduces the concept of «biopedagogical dialogue», which he defines as a means propitiating learnings in the relationships with oneself, with Others and with the environment.

Keywords : Anthropology; medicine; principle of complementarity; bio-pedagogy; biopedagogical dialogue.
