Abstract
BLANCO SUAREZ, Jorge Orlando. Globalization and reconfiguring the public-private -Towards a global public sphere. Tabula Rasa [online]. 2013, n.19, pp.139-166. ISSN 1794-2489.
Abstract This paper analyses the impacts in globalization processes on the way public-private relations developed in modernity. Specifically, this paper renders an account of political and institutional scenarios informing, privileging private and mercantile logics, thus displacing State and the idea that State used to represent the public interest, or that it served as an instrument to achieve those public interests. However, in globalization those processes are displayed in an unequal and contradictory way. Different ways to articulate the local-national and the global are generated, and conflict is a fundamental characteristic in this process. This analysis adopts a political and sociological stance, but a perspective from political philosophy permeate the whole text.
