TOVAR-HERNANDEZ, Deysy Margarita  e  TENA-GUERRERO, Olivia. Alliances between Nahua women: an alternative to upset patriarchy. Tabula Rasa [online]. 2017, n.26, pp.311-329. ISSN 1794-2489.  https://doi.org/10.25058/20112742.199.

The processes of coloniality and patriarchal domination have had an incidence upon the current oppression conditions endured by indigenous women in Mexico. However, by recognizing in history women's actions, set off to upset the grounds of such oppression, we have identified one of the keys to transgress domination is the pact between women. Therefore, this study aims to explore several alliances and pacts between women in Sierra Norte de Puebla, during the process oforganizing the Masehual Siuamej Mosenyolchicauani, by following a qualitative feminist research methodology, through individual and group semi structured interviews. In order to analyze the data gathered, a qualitative content analysis was applied. The artisans gave evidence of alliances between them, with women of other organizations and with scholar and professional women, which has brought about changes in gender relations and their living situation in Cuetzalán, Puebla, Mexico.

Palavras-chave : indigenous women; patriarchy; feminism; alliances; pacts between women.
