Abstract

CALCETERO GUTIERREZ, José ROBERTO; FUENTES COTES, MILENA M.  and  GUERRERO, WILSON ORLANDO. A revision to the environmental dimension and the development of human abilities. Tabula Rasa [online]. 2018, n.28, pp.385-407. ISSN 1794-2489.  https://doi.org/10.25058/20112742.n28.17.

This article reviews the interests of three researchers, who, in the interest of analysing the meanings of institutionality and the environmental dimension, have decided to do several contributions to the development of social skills aiming the consolidation of local development, particularly in the territories where local development is in crisis, not only on the ecosystem level, but also in the institutional management working for their protection and prevention of irreparable damage. Consequently, technical expertise to tackle environmental issues is considered fundamental, but even more it is work to make individuals, groups, and communities aware in their daily activities, as well as work with social organizations to develop social abilities intended to strengthen the environmental dimension.

Keywords : environmental dimension; institutionality; social skills development; local development.
