Thinking of the place of the epistemological in social work results in varied discussions revolving around discipline, or research and intervention processes, and in remaining issues regarding the conditions of professional praxis. To begin with, this argument aims for a reflective exercise on central questions, namely: Which development model, which type of society and citizenship are forged this context? How to contribute from daily professional practice to a fairer, freer, and more equitable society? Indeed, formulating political and epistemological questionings in a reflection exercise is a natural result of an ethical-political project informing new bets, with a social commitment with knowledge. Also, we will inquire into the constituting elements of the epistemic subject, who participates in his/her own intellectual, transforming, and lived process in a comprehensive context of experience, while social phenomenology opens new paths to reflect upon contemporary social work.
