ftis article addresses, in a critical and propositive manner, Cultural Studies’ key theoretical-methodological contribution: radical contextualism. Even though this framework presents some theoretical flaws, it is pertinent not only to keep it but to complement it, in order to advance in its consolidation. With this in mind, we briefly introduce radical contextualism. Following, we address some of the criticism to cultural studies related to radical contextualism, in order to problematize it. Ensuingly, we put forward a set of analytical categories that may help to complete this framework.
