Abstract

RODRIGUEZ CORTES, Astrid bibiana; RODRIGUEZ VILLAMIL, Hernán  and  CHAVEZ PLAZAS, Yuri Alicia. Family as a Territorial Setting for Cultural Transmission of Peace. Tabula Rasa [online]. 2022, n.41, pp.249-267.  Epub Apr 28, 2022. ISSN 1794-2489.  https://doi.org/10.25058/20112742.n41.11.

From the viewpoint of mother-child relationship, this article challenges the assumption that daily practices, values, and beliefs are peace-oriented within family life as a territorial setting. This research carried out with mothers in the city of bogota, under a qualitative approach, show hegemonic practices and discourses of regulation, discipline, and care intended to strengthen attitudes and practices for coexistence, respect, and reliability towards their children. Participants normalize their role framing it within the pattern of the woman and the mother who is expected to care for and educate their children. They do not see their contribution to peace or give importance to the Havana Accords.

Keywords : coexistence; mothers; peace building; pre-adolescents; cultural transmission; territory.
