Abstract

PAEZ MURILLO, Carlos Augusto; CABRERA ALBORNOZ, Luis Alfredo  and  SANABRIA ALVAREZ, William Andrés. Crime in localities of the First Line of the Bogotá Metro from 2018 to 2023. Rev. Crim. [online]. 2024, vol.66, n.3, pp.45-63.  Epub Feb 22, 2025. ISSN 1794-3108.  https://doi.org/10.47741/17943108.661.

The article analyses the monthly rates of high-impact crimes per hundred thousand inhabitants in the localities where the sixteen stations of the First Line of the Bogotá Metro will be located, covering the period between 2018 and 2023. For this, a descriptive quantitative methodology was applied through an exploratory time series analysis, examining the average behaviours of crimes before, during and after the measures taken against Covid-19. The augmented Dickey-Fuller test, stationarity index and Spearman correlation tests were applied to identify patterns of stationarity and correlation among the collected data. This approach provides insight into the evolution of the rates of these crimes. As a result, it is observed that the average behaviour of high-impact crime rates at each time point analysed was not similar for all. In particular, the minimum for the month of April 2020 was identified for several high impact crimes in the different localities. On the other hand, it is highlighted that from the second semester of 2022 the highest peaks of thefts from persons are registered in the areas reviewed.
