Abstract

HOYOS GOMEZ, Camilo. Louis Aragón and the surreal merveilleux quotidien. Hallazgos [online]. 2013, vol.10, n.20, pp.75-89. ISSN 1794-3841.  https://doi.org/10.15332/s1794-3841.2013.0020.05.

The article is an analysis of the importance of seeing and imagination in the nightwalk of Paris' "Passage de l'Opéra" included in Louis Aragon's The Paris Peasant. Aragón proposes a process of knowing our reality through the senses, which are activated through activated through our experiences with the real world. From the knowledge of our daily surroundings, he who walks the city with a determined way of seeing will participate in a series of psychic and poetic images which are elaborated by the walker's unconsciousness. By making the importance of seeing one of the most, Aragón is also sustaining a new epistemological view of experience through the act of seeing. One of the earliest and fundamental surrealist literary works, it is one of the most interesting odes the city written by the Surrealist work, acknowledging the city as a daily and magic space.
