OSORNO NAVARRO, Mara Mercedes. Comprehensive care of pregnant women in the community. Hallazgos [online]. 2013, vol.10, n.20, pp.123-140. ISSN 1794-3841.  https://doi.org/10.15332/s1794-3841.2013.0020.08.

This paper is the result of nursing practice in the community, in the frame of the project "Maternal and Child Care Model", which is oriented to a group of pregnant women in the southeastern part of Sincelejo and was executed during 2008 and 2010. This program provides comprehensive care to its users according to the Technical Regulation 0412 of 2000, along with the Biopsychosocial Model proposed by the Ministry of Health, the Sexual and Reproductive Health Policy and the new millennium goals. It includes an educational component that involves the family and the couple in order to strengthen protective factors, prevent risk factors and obtain healthy children and mothers. For this, fifteen family histories of the pregnant women who participated in this program were chosen to perform an analysis of the practice of nursing students, taking into account socio-demographic characteristics. This research found that pregnant women identify and connect themselves to the program and the psycoprofilactic course because they receive education regarding pregnancy, childbirth and postpartum, and receive effective relaxation exercises, breathing and intrauterine stimulation through methodologies and contextual dynamics.
