Abstract

JIMENEZ MEDINA, Jenny Alexandra  and  GONZALEZ HERNANDEZ, Dory Luz. Paradigm shifts in the dissemination of knowledge in higher education in Colombia: A crisis from the university publishing field. Hallazgos [online]. 2013, vol.10, n.20, pp.171-191. ISSN 1794-3841.  https://doi.org/10.15332/s1794-3841.2013.0020.11.

The disclosure of historical knowledge is transformed with the advent of new techniques and the use of technologies; first, with the advent of printing, the world revolutionized the way how scientific production was approached, and currently, the digital devices allow an approach to knowledge which predisposes a different way of seeing the world and the access to an information scenario that used to be inaccessible. Thus, the university publishing field emerges, and it must adapt to the new dynamics and stabilize the loss of legitimacy and hegemony in which higher education lives today. This situation has imposed a challenge to higher education to make its stay in the field of scientific production, which not only involves the production of knowledge but also its disclosure, by coordinating it with contemporary dynamics and the emergence of a consumer society closer to virtuality.

Keywords : digital convergence; disclosure; knowledge; publishing; paradigm.
