Abstract

OSORIO CALVO, Carlos Alberto. Own education and relationships of balance and harmony in the territory. Hallazgos [online]. 2024, vol.21, n.41, pp.11-39.  Epub Jan 30, 2024. ISSN 1794-3841.  https://doi.org/10.15332/2422409x.9545.

The Nasa People in Colombia aim to contribute to territorial autonomy through educational autonomy, adapting teaching processes to their worldviews and original laws. In their ancestral territory, they struggle against education imposed by the official system, promoting an own education that preserves their knowledge. This ethnographic study in the Indigenous Reserve of Canoas, in Cauca, demonstrates the interconnection between Own Education and Territorial Autonomy, highlighting the importance of intercultural dialogue among different knowledge systems to strengthen indigenous identity.

Keywords : education; indigenous movement; Nasa people; interculturality.
