Abstract

AVENDANO C, William R. Social responsibility and corporative social responsibility: a new perspective for companies. Rev. Lasallista Investig. [online]. 2013, vol.10, n.1, pp.152-163. ISSN 1794-4449.

Social responsibility is the expression of ethics between people and their surroundings. Because of this, the ethical criteria which trend to dominate in the decisions related to development contribute to determine the practical exercise of such responsibility. This ethical conception is precisely the reason why the contemporary society, and specially its leaders, admits injustices that affect many of the world population's sectors. This article proposes an epistemic delimitation to the term "social responsibility" and to its effects on companies. To do so, a compilation of several articles, documents and briefs was made, in order to analyze and determine the scope of social responsibility in the current historical framework.

Keywords : social responsibility; company; state; government; ethics; competitiveness.
