Resumen
LOAIZA ALZATE, Yeni Alexandra. The truth as a fundamental criterion of reparation to the victims in the Colombian transitional justice. Rev. Lasallista Investig. [online]. 2019, vol.16, n.2, pp.252-266. ISSN 1794-4449. https://doi.org/10.22507/rli.v16n2a20.
The truth is considered a crucial element in the reconciliation of the parties in conflict, so it is described as an act of justice in itself, since the public and official exposition of the truth facilitates the forgiveness and forgetfulness of the victims. Likewise, reparations to victims cover a wide range of legal and political mechanisms designed to remedy massive violations to human rights during the armed conflict. Therefore, it is the truth that leads to a transformative repair that incorporates political, economic and legal dimensions. The reconstruction of this debate about the implementation of transitional justice in Colombia based on the truth shows that it is a dynamic and contradictory process that is inserted in a regime that has traditionally been characterized by serious ambiguities. Therefore, it is not easy to define the process of transitional justice and its results in terms of reparation in the country. However, it is important to note these characteristics and draw lessons about this process.
