Introduction.
This article reflects on the notion of system in Edgar Morin's thought.
Objective.
To show how the complex unity of reality replaces the object as an ontological, essentialist and static entity, in favor of the processual and dynamic system.
Methodology.
From a theoretical review, it is clarified how the concept of complexity is to be understood in Morin.
Results.
The characteristics of the system and its link with another fundamental notion, that of organization, are detailed.
Conclusions.
Both the principles of its transformation and those of its creation and destruction are found in the system.
