Abstract

The thematic set of social roles is important in early childhood education because it enables the development of symbolic, voluntary, reflective, communicative and openly imaginative activities. These are forms of psychological education to ensure success of learning at school age. This paper presents a reflection on the need for thematic role play in preschool classrooms5 because of its effect furthering skills and preventing difficulties in development and learning. Furthermore, this activity is considered important because it enables children to acquire tools necessary for life and to act actively in society. It also contributes to the well being of preschoolers and thus to improve the right to quality education in the context of human development and school health.6
