GOENAGA, Jesús; LOPERA, Juan Diego  e  VILLADA, Johny. Analysis of the Evidence on Moral Judgment and Decision-Making Between 2005 and 2020. Av. Psicol. Latinoam. [online]. 2021, vol.39, n.3, e204.  Epub 02-Jul-2022. ISSN 1794-4724.  https://doi.org/10.12804/revistas.urosario.edu.co/apl/a.10373.

A systematic review of 80 studies on moral judgment in moral decision-making from the cognitive sciences, published between 2005 and 2020, in English and Spanish, is presented. The articles were evaluated according to the levels of evidence of the Scottish Intercollegiate Guidelines Network (SIGN), carrying out a methodological analysis and identifying the following theoretical trends: findings of the cognitive neurosciences, the variables of biological, psychological, and socio-cultural influence, the reason vs. intuition debate, the divergence between moral judgment and behavior, and the understanding of moral judgment as an evaluation process. It is concluded that the reviewed studies offer representativeness of evidence at explanatory levels; they also show a preference for analytical empirical research, assiduous independent-variable-handling in experimental designs, using moral dilemma instruments and electrophysiological recordings that offer wide inferential possibilities. However, greater theoretical and methodological consistency is necessary to avoid contradictions that make it difficult to strengthen the theoretical models.
