Abstract

GARZON VALLEJO, Iván. Kant or Schmitt? Philosophical-political perspectives of the armed conflict. Co-herencia [online]. 2008, vol.5, n.8, pp.65-82. ISSN 1794-5887.

This article analyzes Immanuel Kant"s and Carl Schmitt"s philosophical views in order to find theoretical referents for the understanding and termination of the Colombian armed conflict. For that purpose the work appeals basically to the study of such texts in which these authors outlined their ideas about conflict, war and peace. In this context, their most outstanding philosophical arguments are put to the test about their possible application to Colombian reality, offering reasons and arguments to substantiate the matter at hand.

Keywords : Immanuel Kant; Carl Schmitt; armed conflict; peace; war; political philosophy; Colombia.
