Abstract

NAVIA HOYOS, Mateo. Emmanuel Levinas: between captivity and philosophy. Co-herencia [online]. 2009, vol.6, n.11, pp.39-51. ISSN 1794-5887.

The article takes up again some aspects of the life and work of Emmanuel Levinas. It focuses on the period of his captivity (1940-1945), in which he wrote De la existencia al existente. The author proposes that De la existencia al existente shows not only the distance from some of Husserl's and Heidegger's theses but the central courses of the levinasian proposal, that is, the other and intersubjectivity.

Keywords : Ethics; Phenomenology; Levinas; Heidegger; Husserl; Intersubjectivity; Other.
