Abstract

ESLAVA GOMEZ, Adolfo. The idea of justice at the service of development in Amartya Sen. Co-herencia [online]. 2010, vol.7, n.13, pp.245-260. ISSN 1794-5887.

From the most recent work of Amartya Sen, this text is a review of the struggle between self-interested and altruist reasons as a development foundation in justice as a background. Based on contributions from John Rawls and Douglass North, it proposes a neoinstitutionalist approach that highlights the relevance of the rules, then, according to Adam Smith, it describes the role of the moral feelings in the public questions’ deliberation: It shows at the end the function of rules and feelings in the development pursuing centered on authentic humanism.
