SANTIBANEZ YANEZ, Cristián. Mindreading, representation, inference and argumentation. Co-herencia [online]. 2015, vol.12, n.23, pp.171-204. ISSN 1794-5887. https://doi.org/10.17230/co-herencia.12.23.7.
This paper aims to contribute to the explanation of the function of both mindreading and mental representation as cognitive sub-themes in inferential activity as well as argumentative behavior. The paper discusses various alternative explanations available in philosophical and cognitive literature, boiling everything down to a cultural/ evolutionary perspective which emphasizes collectivistic design. For the overall purpose, the evolutionary change in the brainmind plasticity is analyzed, the social intelligence hypothesis is discussed, and some different notions of mindreading are confronted.
