In 2015, the first of two volumes containing the Collège de France courses on the fundamental concepts of sociology by Pierre Bourdieu was published. It represents an opportunity to reflect on the exposition of the fundamental concepts that are at the heart of his work. It is also an opportunity to analyze how is transmitted the knowledge on society and its corresponding profession. These notes are meant to be a first reflection on these issues as well as an invitation to examine and criticize what is certainly a great cultural legacy of the twentieth century.
