Resumen
NARANJO SIERRA, Edwin. Ore-controlling structures and geostatistical determination of ore-shoots in shear zone hosted lode gold type deposits, El Bagre-Antioquia, Colombia. Earth Sci. Res. J. [online]. 2022, vol.26, n.1, pp.47-54. Epub 12-Feb-2023. ISSN 1794-6190. https://doi.org/10.15446/esrj.v26n1.92419.
Shear zone hosted lode gold type deposits at the El Bagre district, Colombia, are the only known Permian gold mineralization in Colombia Andes. Multiple fluid flows are inferred in the formation of these veins, probably synchronous to several shearing episodes. Nonetheless, orientation and control of high-grade gold concentrations (i.e., ore-shoots) are poorly known. In the El Bagre district, three main lode systems are studied with N-NNW-S-SSE orientation and variable dips (40 to 80° to the La Ye and 30 to 45° to Mangos and Cordero). Geostatistical analyses with ellipses determined by variogram modelling, reveal the anisotropy of gold mineralization and the orientation of ore-shoots. The long axes of the anisotropy ellipses trend SSE, certainly related to sinistral shearing and NNW-SSE faulting during D3 deformation event. This study evidences the use of a simple and effective tool for lode gold deposits exploration.
