This article seeks to evidence how the written press represents the palenquero concept based on the intangible cultural heritage discourse. To do so, it portrays the concept of intangible cultural heritage, the province of San Basilio de Palenque and the press as a statement producer. Finally it reflects on how Palenque erotizes and aestheticizes itself according to the value the legitimate heritage discourse grants it.
