The present article attempts by political and military events of 1875, noted the involvement of the forces of Sovereign State of Panama in this race and the political-military relationship or alliance that kept the so-called coastal States. Since 1875 is a year pretty hectic, we focus on the discontent of the Coast States to the President of the Union, Santiago Perez, who, according to the first, sought to encourage both in campaign and in the polls, the nomination of Achilles Parra as his successor in front of the emblematic figure of the country newcomer Rafael Nunez, after 10 year absence.
