Abstract

The article presents the current situation of land code in the southwestern Los Angeles neighborhood in Barranquilla, from the perception of its inhabitants, in order to know if this situation allows its social development and satisfies the socio-cultural dimension. It was guided under a quantitative research with a descriptive design that let analyze in a conjunctive way the next variables: education, health, security, environment socio-cultural development, urban infrastructure and land planning. The level of perception identified questions the absence of an institutional process of land planning, which has set up segregation schemes and low citizen participation, affecting variables related to social development, limiting the ability of the community to build and transform its environment for the sake of its own cultural heritage.
