In the present article we reflection female migration from Cartagena and Barranquilla -cities of the Colombian Caribbean- to diverse international destinations, using research done by the authors on this subject at the point of departure.⁴Here we see experiences narrated by the migrants and family members on the processes of obtaining work as housekeepers, care-takers and in prostitution as the work-spaces where different forms of exploitation and discrimination toward women occur in the countries of destination.
