In the present article we reflection female migration from Cartagena and Barranquilla -cities of the Colombian Caribbean- to diverse international destinations, using research done by the authors on this subject at the point of departure.4Here we see experiences narrated by the migrants and family members on the processes of obtaining work as housekeepers, care-takers and in prostitution as the work-spaces where different forms of exploitation and discrimination toward women occur in the countries of destination.
