Abstract

This article provides a reflection on the ethical-political sense of education from the perspective of human rights. For this purpose, there are initially established the ethical minimums of education from this perspective; then, it is made a comparative analysis of the traditional pedagogical model (the banking one) and the liberator model (awareness creator) in relation to the recognition and affirmation of human dignity. Under the definition of education as a social right and a process that should aim at the formation and consolidation of people as subjects of rights; in short, this article proposes that quality education be focused on the formation of an active citizenship, critical and emancipatory, whose purpose is to enhance human dignity.
