Abstract

GONZALEZ G., Luís Felipe  and  MOLANO M., Luz Adriana. Fleetingness of Latin-American avant-garde: A critical essay about Oliverio Girondo and Surrealism. Diversitas [online]. 2005, vol.1, n.1, pp.96-108. ISSN 1794-9998.

From the appearance, by near ten years, of the surrealist movement, a preliminary outline of some of the characteristics of one of the representatives of this literary school will become, Oliverio Girondo, from a poem of the book Twenty poems to be read in the streetcar, of which were two positions, in appearance antagonistic on the vanguard, derived in a antistyle or decay from the modern principles (Calinescu, 1991) and one possibility of critic to the art institution (Bürger, 1987). These positions allowed to establish some reflections about the general concept of social saturation that postulates the social constructionism and characteristics that Mukarovsky proposes (1992) on the structuralist critical theory.

Keywords : literary vanguard; social constructionism; surrealism; structuralism.
