Abstract
REY-ANACONA, César Armando. Parent Violence Exposure of Adolescents and Young Victims of Some Abusive Behavior in Dating Relationships. Divers.: Perspect. Psicol. [online]. 2011, vol.7, n.2, pp.253-264. ISSN 1794-9998.
This investigation had as objective to determine if exposure to parent violence could be related with the report of having been object of some abusive behavior in dating relationships. 149 men and 254 women single and without children participated, 15-35 years-old, being compared those that informed at least an abusive act with those that did not, in relation to the exposure to violence between the parents. It was found that a significantly bigger percentage of participants that reported some abuse behavior witnessed at least an act of violence among their parents, compared with the percentage of participants that did not inform abuse, and this relation was statistically stronger among women than men and among young adults than adolescents. These results confirm that this exposure could facilitate the victimization, and it should be contemplated in prevention programs against violence.
