This study aimed to understand life from the stories of coping styles with stress in a group of three women in prostitution located south of Bogotá. This study is framed with a historical focus a qualitative hermeneutic and historical biographical approach, using life history to collect information through a semistructured interview. We found that most used coping strategies to stressful situations are: cognitive avoidance, problem solving, behavioral avoidance, positive reappraisal, self, religion and seeking social support, which are used in situations related to abusive and aggressive customers who are under the influence of psychoactive substances, or being in unfamiliar places.
