Abstract The aim of the present study is to determine whether the level of information about pregnancy and the social support predict the health status and the perceived quality of life of pregnant women. To do so, a sample of 94 Venezuelan women on their first trimester of pregnancy completed the following self-report instruments: Information Questionnaire, Social Support Questionnaire, Goldberg General Health Questionnaire and Quality of life, enjoyment and satisfaction questionnaire, Q-LES-Q, which measure the studied variables. Results show that a higher social support significantly predict better health and higher perceived quality of life in these pregnant, while the level of information about pregnancy does not seem to have a direct influence over these health indices.
