Abstract

The aims of this research was to determine if coping style, dispositional optimism, depression, body image, the risk for eating disorder, body mass index and age, interacting in a model will predict quality life related to health in a sample of 411 people aged 15 from 70 years old. Questionnaire coping styles, the Questionnaire of dispositional optimism, the Questionnaire Beck Depression second version, direct to calculate the Body Mass Index measurements, Body Image Questionnaire and the Questionnaire of Quality of life related to health was used SF 36. The results indicate that depression and dissatisfaction body image impacted negatively the quality of life, while that the dispositional optimism increase the quality of life; also the mental health and pain as a lower quality of life related especially in the elderly.
