MARTINEZ-YACELGA, Ana del Rocío; ALMEIDA-MARQUEZ, Lucía; SANTAMARIA-GUISAMANA, Sandra Elizabeth  y  VILLEGAS-VILLACRES, Narciza de Jesús. Design of a behavioral adaptation abilities questionnaire for adolescents. Psychol. av. discip. [online]. 2018, vol.12, n.1, pp.59-69. ISSN 1900-2386.  https://doi.org/10.21500/19002386.3049.

The design of the Behavioral Adaptation Abilities Questionnaire for adolescents between 14 and 18 years of age was developed in order to explore behaviors that promote psychological adjustments to certain situations and conflicts that they face. The design of the measurement tool was based on the planning, applying and analyzing of instruments. The participants were 416 students from public, private and fiscomisional educational institutions located in urban and rural areas. Initially, the questionnaire included 142 items, divided into three areas. After the reliability analysis obtained from the pilot test, that determined that the inner consistency of the cognitive area was low, two new areas were created: a social-contextual one and a practical-functional one, which showed an acceptable inner consistency. In general, the items showed a high coefficient (α = .875). Therefore, the KMO (Kaiser-Meyer-Oblim) test was applied in order to carry out a factorial analysis. The result was a median relation in both cases. Bartlett's sphericity test (p < .001) made the factorial analysis possible as well as the sedimentation graph that confirms the number of factors involved in the construction of the instrument.
