FERNANDEZ-MORALES, Flavio Humberto y DUARTE, Julio Enrique. A module for measuring variables of internal combustion engines. Entramado [online]. 2013, vol.9, n.2, pp.250-256. ISSN 1900-3803.
Internal combustion engines are widely used as power supply sources in locations of difficult access. These low and mid-power engines are usually not provided with proper devices that allow users to determine the proper operation of variables such as: temperature, oil pressure, and rotation speed. This paper provides a description of the design and tune-up of a module that can be used to measure the above-mentioned variables of internal combustion engines that operate on a stationary basis. A PIC 16F873-based data acquisition card was manufactured, adapting the necessary solid state sensors for measuring the variables. The module makes it possible to visualize the variables to be measured, and it can also be programmed to set operating ranges depending on the type of motor.
