The purpose of this research document is to correlate the findings of a prospective review of the mango production chain in the province of Tequendama in Cundinamarca based on system dynamics in order to compare it in various scenarios (domestic vs. foreign market), thus being able to determine the most convenient prospective scenario for mango growers. This document also proposes policies aimed at improving the living conditions of growers in the region and discusses the simulation model using systems dynamics which can be used in different kinds of production chains. The simulation model was built based on experience acquired through field visits, collection of primary and secondary information, and cooperation of experts who, either directly or indirectly, participate in the production chain as part of a research project titled "A prospective mango market: a comparison of the domestic market with the foreign market for the province of Tequendama in Cundinamarca".
