This article presents the legal and technical regulations for acoustic noise in Colombia, and its application through case studies in five of the major cities: Bogotá, Medellín, Cali, Cartagena and Barranquilla. The laws, decrees and resolutions governing the environmental acoustic noise in Colombia are presented, as well as the technical standards that are used for acoustic noise: NTC, ANSI, ISO, among others. A review of the implementation of these regulations is also done, through the study of research findings in the major cities.
