Abstract

MANCERA-RUIZ, Mario Ramón. Disciplinary and professional conditions that demand a curricular adjustment in safety and health at work for the Industrial Design program at El Bosque University. Entramado [online]. 2017, vol.13, n.2, pp.200-211. ISSN 1900-3803.  https://doi.org/10.18041/entramado.2017v13n2.26234.

The purpose of the article is to show the disciplinary and professional conditions related to health and safety at work that demand a curricular adjustment in the Industrial Design Program at El Bosque University. The methodology has a qualitative approach and a her-meneutical paradigm, based on an intentional sample of thirteen participants constituted by coordinators, teachers and students of the Industrial Design Program of the university and experts in occupational safety and health who, through a semi-structured interview, They were questioned about the relevance and depth of occupational safety and health issues. The results denote the pertinence of training students in safety and health at work and the need to review the contents and depth of the subjects of human factors and applied ergonomics, which are currently seen in the first and sixth semesters; as well as the induction in the laboratory of practices, to adjust them. It is recommended to increase the intensity of the subjects of Applied Ergonomics and Human Factors; strengthen the induction of safety and industrial hygiene that is done when students attend the laboratory for the first time and involve teachers who dictate the subjects of Human Factors and Applied Ergonomics in theoretical form so that they can advise their students in the practical process in the laboratory.
