Abstract

VISACOVSKY, Sergio E. Cuando las sociedades conciben el pasado como "Memoria":: un análisis sobre verdad histórica, justicia y prácticas sociales de narración a partir de un caso Argentino. Antipod. Rev. Antropol. Arqueol. [online]. 2007, n.4, pp.47-74. ISSN 1900-5407.

I want to compare the perspective of memory as a resistance against oblivion and recovery of the past to the narrative standpoint and their relativist consequences. My objective is to show that "objectivist" and "relativist" perspectives cannot understand the social experiences of the past as social processes. Instead of memory as a normative or an exceptional phenomenon, or as a discursive realm, I aim to understand it as an indispensable part of social processes, a constituent aspect of social practices in specific contexts.

Keywords : Social Memory; Oblivion; Past Recovery; Narrative; Temporality; Social Experience; Cocial Anthropology.
