Abstract
CAYON, Luis. IDE MA: EL CAMINO DE AGUA: ESPACIO, CHAMANISMO Y PERSONA ENTRE LOS MAKUNA. Antipod. Rev. Antropol. Arqueol. [online]. 2008, n.7, pp.141-173. ISSN 1900-5407.
Starting from Makuna's case, an Eastern Tukanoan group from Northwest Amazon, this article proposes to analyze the spatiality through the interdependence or fusion of space and person notions which are mediated by shamanism. Analyzing the local notions of space, the purpose is to demonstrate how the shamanistic healing creates a metonymic link between space and personhood. This link dissolves the binary oppositions like soul-body, culture-nature, internal-external, etc., which are common in Amazonian anthropological theory. Although the present approximation to spatiality is still under elaboration, it points out the opening of a new context for fieldwork in, at least, some places in the Amazon.
